GatherHouse Glassblowing Studio + Gallery is my working studio where I sell functional and decorative hand-blown glass pieces as well as teach glassblowing classes to individuals of all levels. It’s a great way to get a hands-on experience of working with 2000-degree molten glass. While I’d rather meet with my students and clients in-person, leveraging social media platforms, especially throughout the pandemic, has allowed me to increase my reach, sharing my inspirations for art with a more diverse audience. Outside of using my online presence to market my products, like ornaments around the holiday, I use these tools to help build community, like when I update my followers on the glass blowing achievements of students.

Every day, small businesses use the internet to create new products and services, reach new customers, and remain competitive. However, the internet’s importance to the success of everyone from mom-and-pop shops to the next name brand is an underappreciated story. We’d love to hear your own story about how the internet has helped your business flourish.
